5 day forecast for Llandysul
"An excellent array of flowers and vegetables greeted the judges when they arrived at Rhydlewis Village Hall on Tuesday, 25 August. Colin Lewis from Carmarthen and Sue Wright from Coed-y-Bryn had their work cut out to judge a record number of exhibits. The childrens' classes for 'animals made from fruit and vegetables' caused much amusement and debate but the banana-octopus proved a clear winner".
Photographs of the show and the trophy winners are on the club's web-site www.rhydlewis-gardening-club.co.uk The auction of donated exhibits, a raffle and refreshments ended a very successful autumn show.
The winners in the 8 years and under childrens' classes were Bleddyn Morgan and Angharad Morris. Hedydd Elias won those for 9-14 year olds. The Rose Shield and the Homecraft Shield went to Pam Evans. The Vegetable Cup was won by Janette Sharman, who also grew the best exhibit in the show, her entry of peas. The Floral Cup winner was Lyn Toms and the J.T. Davies Shield for onions went to Michael Lloyd.
The Chairman, Jenny Archibald, thanked everyone who had exhbited or helped with the show. She will be glad to welcome any new members who may come along to Rhydlewis Village Hall on the last Tuesday of any month at 7.30 p.m.
